A play, "PARDON ME FOR LIVING", will be presented on Friday, January 22, 2010 in the Assembly Room.
Doors open for refreshments and seating at 7:30 p.m.; "curtain" rises at 8:00 p.m. This delightful one-woman theatre piece was written and will be performed by Staci Swedeen, an award-winning playwright and actor. It recounts Staci's true story of an encounter with a rabid raccoon-and its aftermath. Several RPC members have seen this play, among them Nancy Steed, who said it made her "cry, laugh, and think." Refreshments will be provided by the Christian Education Committee. After the play, there will be a time for discussion with the author. Cost is $10 for adults; $5 for students and seniors. Save the Date for an Intergenerational Talent Night. Plans are under way for a talent night on Friday, May 14th, 2010 in the Assembly Room, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. In preparation for the show, polish your tap shoes, burnish your vocal cords, find that monologue you've been aching to do, put together a male (or female) can-can line, or whatever else tickles your fancy. There will be a strict 5 minute time limit so we can get in as many acts as possible. There will also be two times to choose from for rehearsal, but no auditions are required. Refreshments will be provided. This is sure to be fun for all participants and performers, young and old. Movie Night? We are planning a Movie Night at RPC. Dates and feature films have yet to be determined. We hope to select thought-provoking fare that will fuel a discussion to be held after each film.
