Midnight Run Clothing Drive
The Midnight Run is a consortium of more than one hundred churches, synagogues, and schools in the metropolitan area. Several nights a week, volunteers travel into Manhattan to deliver clothing, food, blankets, and personal care items to the homeless. Midnight Run sees 10 times more men than women, and fortunately, they rarely see children. So the emphasis in contributions is on casual men's clothing. The most critical items are coats and pants, and larger sizes are particularly sought after.
The following donations will be
accepted for three weeks beginning November 3:
hotel-sized
toiletries,
airplane toiletry kits,
new or good blankets,
new or good warm winter coats,
new or good men's pants,
new or good scarves, hats, and gloves,
new men's (and women's) socks, and
new men's (and women's) underwear.
If you would like to donate food, the best items are soup mix (big canisters), cocoa mix, coffee, bottled water, juice boxes, individual fruit cups, and individually packaged snack foods.
Please leave your items in boxes outside the RPC reception area before November 23. Your donation will go directly to Manhattan's homeless poor.
