VISION
By the Grace of God, Rye Presbyterian Church strives to be a caring, welcoming community of followers of Christ, doing his work in the world.

MISSION
Rye Presbyterian Church lives its vision by actively engaging in worship and outreach activities, supporting the journey of faith of young and old, and serving the spiritual, intellectual, and human needs of the congregation and its local and global communities.

RPC Cookbook

   Prepared by our very own deacons, this cookbook is a wonderful resource for enjoyment at home or when bringing meals to others.  RPC Cooks is available for $15 either at the church office during the week, or at coffee hour Sunday May 11. Proceeds will go to RPC’s community Mission and Outreach program. 

 

RPC Mission and Outreach "Festival de Diez de Mayo” - Saturday, May 10

   6:30 to 9:30 pm - by reservation only.

   All proceeds support our church’s outreach mission for 2008!

The Bible Through African Eyes – Wednesday, May 14 

   Church member Robin Smalt, newly returned from a semester of study in Uganda, will speak this Wednesday, May 14, at 9:30 a.m. in the Library.  As a part of her college work, Robin’s presentation will give us a glimpse into the church in Africa, and issues that arise in reading the New Testament in light of the African cultural context.  Coffee will be ready at 9:15 a.m., and all are welcome!

 

Congregational Meeting – Sunday, May 18

   The Session has called a special meeting of the congregation for Sunday, May 18, following the ten o'clock worship service, for the purpose of electing the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee.  

 

 The Women’s Association Annual Garden Party and Grant Awards Luncheon - Monday, June 2

   Come and get to know many wonderful community organizations, and join us as we award the 2008 grants!  It will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Grape Arbor Sign up at the reception desk or RSVP to bptown@mindspring.com . All are welcome!

Learning the 23rd Psalm

   As Dr. DeVries mentioned in the children’s message last week, the children (and adults) of RPC are being encouraged to memorize Psalm 23.  The worship service on June 1 will focus on this famous passage, and prizes will be given that day to all who accomplish this worthwhile task.  The version we will be using can be found here.

We welcome you to Rye Presbyterian Church for the worship of God and to the ministry of Jesus Christ. You will find directions to the church, a brief summary of who we are and how we came to be as well as programs and schedules available on this web site.

Worship at Rye Presbyterian

Our worship times are an early service with communion each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in Crawford Chapel and 10:00 a.m. regular service in the sanctuary with church school following the children's message.

The Church Office

Our office hours are 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday - except in July and August when the hours change to 8:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.

The church building, with exception of the office, is also open Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m.

Messages for staff members may be left on voice mail when offices or buildings are closed. A directory list of extensions is provided in our telephone message.
